Who am I?

Jenn Vargas Pressman

Birth Photographer - Mom - Wife - Teacher - lover - Nurturer - Explorer - Researcher

As cliche as it is to say, "BIRTH changed me", it is true.  The process of BIRTH is the most life changing, mind blowing, near magical experience I have ever had.  After going through two drastically different births, yet experiencing similar overwhelming emotion, unrelenting strength, and unconditional love and support, I became infatuated with the process that has contributed to the growth of populations all over the world and the evolution of our species.  I went into labor one person, and each time came out another.

Being a photographer, and a stubborn one at that, I went into my births with my camera in my hospital bag.  While I would have loved to have documented my own births, this was QUITE unrealistic.  Even expecting my husband to document my birth was unrealistic (though thank goodness he grabbed my camera and snapped some pictures.)  Now, while I cherish the few images I do have, they only tell a small part of my birth story.  I have huge gaps in my memory of those two days, and no images to help fill them in.  I thought I could never forget details of days filled with so much intensity, but I already have.

Shortly after the birth of my second daughter, I vowed I would make it my mission to capture the unique stories of women bringing babies into this world.  I would document the determination of a laboring mother, the support of a caring partner or family member, the quickly changing face and color of a new baby.  SO HERE I AM.... Denver birth photographer, eager, willing, and able to capture your story.

Photos by Roger Pressman (my dear husband) and a mysterious phantom nurse.

What do others have to say?

We had the pleasure of working with Jen the day after our 2nd child was born and again at 4 months. The ‘freshie sesh’ was so relaxed and non-intrusive. We just did our thing, soaking up those precious first hours of our newborns life. Jen beautifully captured the joy on our daughter’s face as she wrapped her little head around how this new baby suddenly appeared overnight. Since then, our days are busy and packed with the adventures of an energetic 2 year old and our new addition, not to mention the ever playful canine. What is so refreshing about Jen’s work is that our family - those precious, loving, goofy moments - were truly captured in our second session. “She is so good” was what my husband kept repeating as we looked through our gallery. She is so good; I can’t think of a better person to capture our life. I can’t wait for the next time! Thank you so much Jen!

I’m so glad I chose to work with Jenn to photograph my birth. She was relaxed and personal while remaining professional. Communication before and after the birth was also great. Most of all, I’m so happy I chose to splurge on birth photos. It seems like you will remember it forever, but the memories get soft around the edges...quickly! Now we can relive the experience together. Thank you Jenn

We had so much fun capturing our newborn baby experience with Jenn! She is a joy to work with- she is smart and kind and easy-going; she has a great heart, and a great eye. Now looking at my 3-month-old and barely remembering my newborn (that time was such a blur!) I am deeply grateful for the memento of our baby’s 5th day and 1st bath. We will treasure our images forever.
Thank you, Jenn and Lulubea Photography!

Jenn was so amazing. She was so professional but at the same time, so warm and comforting. We only have a little preview of her work, we should get the rest back in a couple weeks, but I can tell already that we will LOVE and cherish these photos forever. She captured the raw emotion of labor, my husband and my connection, and the love for our daughter in her very first moments. I’m so grateful to have these images to share with the family who wasn’t there and to help remember the details so easily forgotten. It’s a true gift! We HIGHLY recommend Jenn!

If it wasn’t for Jenn, I would not have survived my son’s birth. My wife labored for 30 hours and she was by our side the entire time. Not only is she amazing at what she does with the camera but she made the overall experience of birth easier for me and my wife. A blessing to have her in the room for your family.

Labor was long and ugly. Jen was able to capture some of the most important moments we will ever have. It was wonderful having Jen in the room with us. Her compassion for the process and her job made it easier on us.
